Safety is our top priority at Ferrantella Construction Corporation. While that statement may sound like a cliché, we mean it. We want every crew member to go home safe and healthy at the end of each day, and we do everything in our power to make sure they do.
We devote considerable time and resources to establishing and maintaining work environments that safeguard both our crews and the public, and we reinforce the importance of safety through ongoing training.
Daily Focus
We begin every day by thinking about how to make it a safe day. Before work starts, field managers and crewmembers at every work site review a safety plan for the project. They identify potential hazards, determine the likelihood of something going wrong and discuss ways to prevent accidents. After this safety analysis, each crewmember signs a Safe Plan of Action card.
Drug and Alcohol Screening
Since we perform work for a wide range of industries, our employees are subject to as many as four different drug and alcohol screening pools. Our supervisors are also trained in substance abuse awareness.
Continuing Education
One of the ways we promote safety is through our emphasis on continuing education for our employees. We take advantage of a wide range of industry training and certification programs. All employees must possess the minimum of OSHA 10 hour training. Many employees have Hazwoper Training, Competent Person Training, and FirstAid/CPR Training, as well as many site-specific training.
